The elegant, smiling Black woman in the cream suit marching off to her high-rise job on the cover of the package and the Black hands with 3inch - long acrylic fingernails, overlaid on the screen that clattered as Beacon typed in tandem with her users.

Their journey to the truth causes them to butt heads with their new corporate sponsors and long held secrets of past epidemics are revealed. As they dig deeper, the lines between past and present blur, revealing a shocking journey through 500 years of history.

The Maladies is a new play by Carmen Nasr, originally devised with the Almeida Theatre Young Company (18-25). This production is directed by Lizi Patch.

So, stand clear and prepare for action, as this show is full of wiz, bang, pop… and splurt.

Seeking You - choir concert

A journey of original choral music, featuring works by Kerensa Briggs, Knut Nystedt and Robert Schumann, as well as by members of the choir. Come with us on a musical voyage of longing and hope in the beautiful setting of All Souls' Church.

In this final concert of our 2024-25 season, we will perform the complete cycle of Nystedt's "Prayers of Kierkegaard", which we have been building up during the year, as well as all four of Schumann's songs for double choir. We also introduce two works by contemporary British composer, Kerensa Briggs.

Artists Around Wetherby Open Studios - Jan Bulley

Jan Bulley is a mixed media artist, ceramicist and printmaker based in Boston Spa near Wetherby (venue no.9). With a previous background in garden design, plants and landscape are integral to Jan’s work which has evolved into a fluid semi-abstract style capturing ephemeral tranquility and atmosphere.

Jan is one of the 27 artists and makers opening their studios for the annual Artists Around Wetherby Open Studios.

Each venue provides refreshments, including homemade cakes, for a donation to our chosen charity - this year we are supporting Yorkshire Cancer Research.
