We are committed to making the Leeds Inspired website as accessible as we can. However, if you are experiencing difficulties with the site, or have any comments regarding accessibility, please contact us and we will do our best to help.

Accessibility of this website

We strive to make this website and its content as accessible as possible. We use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and we are working hard to achieve a goal of WCAG 2.1 AA accessible as our target for this website.

What we do to make this website accessible:

  • Ensure colour contrast is sufficient.
  • Test the validity of XHTML and CSS as we create new pages and styles.
  • Ensure the text on pages can be enlarged using browser controls.

If you spot something that is unhelpful to you and is likely to cause problems for other visitors, please let us know.

Website Content & Publications

There are sections of our website where we require data from other sources. For example, we use a map that we source from Google which has Image Map Area Missing Alternative Text errors that does not make it accessible to a screen reader. Therefore, this fails the WCAG 2.1 criterion.

We provide large print versions of our publications, available on request.

We ensure that emails we send out are available as HTML or plain text emails.

Works in Progress

Our website is currently under development. As part of this work, we are working hard to fix any issues to make all elements of our site accessible.

We have an upcoming User Experience review and redesign of the site which will consider accessibility from the very beginning of the redesign.

We are currently striving to improve the use of appropriate Alt Tags on our website.

We are reviewing how we provide large print versions of our publications.
