Stained Glass Saturday Workshop with Sam Yates (July)

Mixed ability stained-glass workshop. This workshop is suitable for both beginners and those with some experience.

Your incredibly talented tutor, Samantha Yates, will tailor the sessions to your experience level so you'll really get the most from this fabulous workshop.

During the session, you will learn how to use glass tools to cut and shape glass, understand the difference between copper foil and leaded technique and be able to produce a simple design which you will take home with you!!

Inclusive Voices: Intersectionality & LGBTQIA+

A new meeting for all in our communities to talk about crossovers between being LGBTQIA+ and other characteristics to better understand and support each other.

This session we'll have friendly and constructive conversation together about how we interact as LGBTQIA+ folks with others under our rainbow umbrella with LGBTQIA+ identities and lives which are different to ours.

This session will be facilitated by Grant Denkinson, but if you’d like to help co-host please get in touch!

Wonderland Awaits

Leeds city centre will be reimagined through the curious lens of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass, with seven larger-than-life installations and a free family trail guaranteed to spark imagination, laughter, and discovery.

Inspired by Lewis Carroll’s timeless classics, Wonderland Awaits transports visitors down the rabbit hole to follow in Alice’s footsteps where they’ll encounter iconic scenes and some familiar characters in this summer’s magical immersive experience in Leeds city centre.

In the lead up to this significant time, SAA-uk are honouring the vibrance of South Asian creativity through exciting community sharing days. Taking place all across Leeds, these events will showcase music, dance, poetry, art and creative expression inspired by South Asian heritage — whether traditional, contemporary or beautifully fused.

Stitch a Felt Patch with Jane Gibson

Join fibre artist Jane to create a unique hand embroidered felt patch using a template or your own imagination. You will be guided through choosing the right materials, designing your patch and embellishing it with simple embroidery stitches.

Whether you’re a complete beginner or you love to sew, you will take home your patch and the skills to revive a tired piece of clothing.

Jane is passionate about embroidery and uses it on anything she can get a needle through! Join her in letting your creativity loose!

Yarnbury Beer & Music Festival

The event occurs annually each July and this year will be the 15th incarnation of this celebration of great beer and live music. The festival is one of the biggest in Yorkshire and takes place over two days.

There are over 60 real ales & ciders on offer plus craft beers, gin & prosecco bars and home cooked food. Some of the best local bands and performers provide live music entertainment throughout the weekend from both the main stage and our acoustic corner.
