Yoga Essentials: Warriors

Whether you're new to yoga or an experienced practitioner, our Yoga Essentials sessions offer something for everyone.

This is part of several sessions within Amy's Yoga Essentials Series!

Over four transformative weeks, we’ll guide you through the core aspects of yoga, combining asana (postures), pranayama (breath work), and yoga philosophy to create a holistic, well-rounded practice.

In Week 1 of this series, you will:

Mandala For Mind (Yoga Workshop)

Charity Fundraising Yoga Class for Leeds Mind.

We will begin our practice with a calming yin pose to ground ourselves before slowly building a sequence of poses. We will be moving in a mandala style, 360 degrees around the mat, being guided by our body and breath.

Through this mindful flow it will allow time to move from our head into our body. Taking this time for our self care and wellness, whilst raising money for an absolutely amazing cause at the same time.

Art Market

Final year BA Fine Art students at the University of Leeds are hosting an art market and raffle to raise additional funds for their degree show.

There will be stalls by local artists and makers plus a raffle with prizes – such as vouchers from Hyde Park Book Club and Fred Aldous, and artworks by final year Fine Art students to be won.

There will also be free refreshments.

Raffle takes place at 7pm.

Brudenell Piano Sessions @ The Attic

For our summer show this year, we are taking Brudenell Piano Sessions on the road again, this time marking the occasion with a visit to The Attic on Sheaf Street in the city centre. As always, expect a typically varied and captivating evening of live music centred around the piano, in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. It’s piano music; for everyone.

Dreamers Q&A

Join us for a chance to meet the team behind Dreamers, a new Channel 4 drama about the Chapeltown Collective, an eclectic troupe of dancers made by Leeds-based Duck Soup.

This is your chance to hear about the unique way in which Dreamers was made. Find out how the show auditioned over 1000 young people. Hear from the trainees who worked behind the camera and with the support of Screenskills. And talk to the writers and producers about why Dreamers couldn’t be made anywhere but Leeds.

FNL: Terra Invisus

Contemporary music trio Terra Invisus are touring their new cross-cultural project BETWEEN TWO/TARP DVIEJŲ, combining the musical worlds of Lithuania and the United Kingdom and serves as a platform to share the creative talent of these countries.

Out Loud: Poetry and LGBTQ+ Identity Creative Workshop - with Natalie McKiddie

Celebrating Pride Month, we have a fabulous Poetry workshop where you can contribute your work to the Zine Library. Find out about the history of queer poetry and be inspired to create your own!

Natalie will support a relaxed and informative workshop to learn about work from greats such as Sappho, Audre Lorde, and Oscar Wilde, and take us through writing exercises and prompts to reflect on the place of poetry in the expression of LGBTQ+ identity.
