Shoddy Work

Gill Crawshaw introduces the ideas behind 'Shoddy', an exhibition of disabled artists’ work.
 
"This April Shoddy will bring together work which uses textiles and recycled fabrics in different ways, by artists from across the country. They responded to a call-out for work that challenges negative assumptions of disabled people, in an exhibition that aims to make the work of disabled artists more visible in Leeds.

In Pursuit Of Imperfection

They say you learn something new everyday and today's new thing is that there's no such thing as a perfect circle. Not even when its drawn with a compass. Infact you won't find a perfect circle anywhere in the universe because they only exist as a mathematical theory. Mind blowing stuff that's made me wonder if it's time we renamed them; maybe 'roundling' could be the new circle?

Leeds Inspired Postcards 2014

Introducing our See What's Out There postcard illustrations 2014 by artists Caroline Pratt, Dan Dowker, Rachel Davey and Anna Peaker. We love the fact that they stand out as individual images with their distinct personalities.

They also work perfectly as a set of four - although if we're honest this was a serendipitous accident!

A Very Reggae Christmas To You!

A fine time was had by all at the second of our Woolly Warmer mini music concerts last weekend with mellow and uplifting sounds from Leeds' band A Dread Supreme. Their reggae take on traditional Christmas carols got people up and dancing at Stand Eleven in Leeds Bus Station and the German Market bandstand for a very festive boogie!
