Leeds Inspired Illustrator Taaryn Brench
Earlier this year we commissioned Leeds based illustrator Taaryn Brench to create illustrations for some of our well used event pages like gigs, film listings and school holiday events.
Taaryn's work is characterised by a love of colour, pattern and playfulness which is applied to advertising, editorial, publishing and surface pattern design projects. Working from her home studio, Taaryn splits her time working with commercial clients and on her own retail brand. Analogue methods and happy accidents are at the core of her process, she enjoys painting and mark making with gouache, ink and crayons.
We loved Taaryn's playful approach to interpreting the brief and were very happy to welcome our Daredevil Stunt Woman (see lead image) into the fold along with a new Spring Bunny! All the images have been animated and we'll be sharing those on our Instagram account throughout the year.
As well as working with Leeds Inspired, Taaryn's past clients include Penguin Books, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Big Issue, TouchNote, Bookshop.org and Foilco.
