School Of Night

The School of Night is 20!!

Twenty years ago The School of Night made its first appearance, at Shakespeare's Globe in London. Since then, its unique blend of literary improvisation has been seen all over the UK (Hay, Latitude and Edinburgh festivals, National Theatre, British Library) and beyond (in the US, Malaysia and all over Europe) as well as appearing on many radio shows, including BBC Radio's The Verb.

Scalarama Leeds First Meeting, Fundraiser and Film Screening of El Cine Soy Yo

Come along to our first meeting of 2025 on Thursday 20 February from 6PM at The Tetley. The meeting will last roughly an hour and will be a general hello and information about the festival will be given to both newcomers and returning programmers to Scalarama Leeds. 

If you are brand new to Scalarama, don't worry! Everything will be explained in the meeting about how it all works and we are a very friendly bunch. You are not expected to bring anything or have any ideas for your possible future events at this point.

Life Drawing with Rob Oldfield

Join us in our monthly life drawing class with Gallery favourite, experienced artist and tutor, Rob Oldfield.

This workshop is open to everyone, from newcomers who want to take up a hobby through to experienced artists looking to hone their sketching skills.

Materials including various papers, pencils, charcoal and drawing boards will be supplied, but please feel free to bring your own too.

An evening with Lindsey Burrow

We are proud to be able to bring you an event with Pride of Britain Award Winner and inspirational woman, Lindsey Burrow. Lindsey will join us in the Old Woollen for an evening to talk about her first publication Take Care, the life-affirming memoir of the working mother of three young children who has inspired the nation through her selfless commitment to husband Rob Burrow (CBE), the rugby league legend she cared for throughout his heroic battle with motor neurone disease (MND).
