Brown Fang are influenced by Gary Numan, The Blue Nile, Durruti Column, Kraftwerk, Spiritualized and Robert Fripp.

Both Thompson and Scott are acclaimed musicians in their own right - Thompson has performed with Bent, Attraktors, Scott 4, Crazy P, The Selecter, Nectarine No.9 and Idris Elba amongst others, Scott as Fang Jr. and as electric guitarist with Jimi Mack, and Alice Robbins. Both with Torn Sail.

Renowned DJ, artist, and cultural provocateur Justin Robertson ventures back into the world of fiction with his second novel, The Trial of Jonah (Velocity Press). A wildly imaginative and darkly humorous narrative, the book explores the tangled roots of creativity, the intangible magic of art and the dark larceny at the heart of all human endeavours.

Sir Derek Jacobi is an icon of stage and screen known for his work at the Royal National Theatre. He is a BAFTA, Olivier, Emmy, Screen Guild and Tony Award-winner and, to top it all off, Derek was given a Knighthood for his services to theatre by Queen Elizabeth II.  Not bad for a boy who grew up in Essex and the son of a corner shop owner and a secretary.

To mark the 80th anniversary of the end of the Second World War, we’ll be taking inspiration from our collection of print fabrics as well as learning some classic moves with swing dance workshops!

Our 1940s prints brought cheery colour and dashing design to wartime rationed clothing, so we’ll be creating our own fabulous fabric prints in the spirit of make do and mend.

Bring the whole family to explore our exhibition, enjoy a cuppa and get creative.
