Every year, Jazz Leeds organise the Jazz and Blues Sunday at the Chapel Allerton Arts Festival held in Regent Street, Chapel Allerton LS7 4PE. This year the date is Sunday 31 August, and the time between 12.30pm amd 6pm. It’s a pay as you feel event – there are lots of food and other stalls and a festival bar in the street. Chapel Allerton Arts Festival runs 28-31 August and is completely run by volunteers.
12.30pm: Leeds Youth Jazz Rock Orchestra
Learn how to use fabric and thread to tell stories in our drop-in textile workshops. The project artists will expertly guide you to create embroidered, patchworked and embellished pieces of textile art as part of the Threads of Freedom project. You don’t need any experience to join in as they will guide you through designing and creating your piece inspired by the history of Leeds and the Leodis photographic archives.
Ancient Infinity Orchestra is a 14-member jazz ensemble led by double-bassist and composer Ozzy Moysey, based in our bustling creative city of Leeds. Saxophonist Mathew Cliffe is a key member of the rotating line-up which includes drums, two bassists, keyboards, harp, violin, cello, two tenors, alto, oboe, flute and percussion.
Part of this year's Chapel Allerton Arts Festival, Olivia Cuttill brings her all star band back to Seven Arts with her brand new album ‘Writing And Singing And Tunes To Be Swingin’.
The friendliest jazz jam in town! Come and join in or just enjoy the fun. All styles and levels welcome – vocals and instrumentals – it’s all about the vibe.
The jazz leeds trio will be there to support all performers. Phil Green will be your MC. Payf collection – all money goes to the band.

John Settle plays the vibraphone with remarkable fluency and swing and is planning a varied selection of blues, latin, bop and ballads, plus a dip into the great American songbook. A lovely swinging quartet for Courtyard jazz with Ed Barnwell keyboards, Jose Canha bass and Caroline Boaden drums
Emily Brown is a popular jazz singer with a gift for harmonic risk-taking and accessing emotional depth in a song. You can expect to hear jazz, blues, soul & some ear-opening detours – all classics but delivered in Emily’s warmly alert and soul enlarging style.

We are so excited to be launching in Leeds.
We’re taking over Sixes in Headingley, the home of a very well-stocked bar and some very fun social cricket simulators.
For a part of the night, we’ll introduce you to a group of people to have a bat with that you have similar interests to (we’ll get a bit of info about you when you grab your ticket).
Not into cricket? We weren’t either, but we’ve spent an excessive amount of time on these simulators now and can confirm they’re great fun. Absolutely no running required.
Abtuse cross the loose boundaries of jazz fusion and draw on an eclectic range of latin, afro jazz and jazz funk numbers by the likes of Dave Weckl, the Yellowjackets, Brecker Bros, Snarky Puppy.
