Part of this year's Chapel Allerton Arts Festival, Olivia Cuttill brings her all star band back to Seven Arts with her brand new album ‘Writing And Singing And Tunes To Be Swingin’.
Olivia, who was one of the bright stars of Leeds Conservatoire, is now a London based jazz trumpet player and composer. As the third generation to pursue music in her family (all of which feature on her new album) , jazz and blues are deeply rooted in Olivia’s heritage. Heavily influenced by the sounds of New Orleans, inspired by Louis Armstrong and Dr John and the song writing of Nina Simone and Randy Newman, her sound is rich with soul. Olivia’s approach to composition, story telling and improvisation seamlessly bleed into one, gleaming with conviction, character and captivation. Check out Olivia’s debut album with the quintet, entitled The Whole Damn Plan.
Olivia will share the stage with vocalist Issey Chivers, pianist Tom Harris, bassist Josh Vadiveloo and drummer Miles Pillinger.
