Grimethorpe Colliery Band

Formed in 1917 in South Yorkshire, Grimethorpe Colliery Band is widely regarded as a British institution. National and British Open Champion on numerous occasions, the band received two gold discs for its contributions to the global hit movie, Brassed Off. Recently appointing Ben Dixon as its new Musical Director, Grimethorpe Colliery Band has long championed new music for brass, premiering young British composer and orchestrator Dani Howard’s Warp and Weft at Brass in Concert in 2023.
