Founded in 1855 as the Saltaire Band by Sir Titus Salt, the band has had a long association with Hammonds Sauce Works. Now, with Morgan Griffiths as Musical Director, the band performs as Hammonds Band. Alongside contesting and performing across Europe, Hammonds Band has worked with multi-instrumentalist and composer Shri Sriram to fuse the band’s iconic brassy sounds with traditional Indian music. Hammonds Band recently welcomed former winner of the prestigious Craxton Memorial Trust Award, Anabel Voigt, on solo horn.
