Opera North puts wellbeing centre-stage this month, with four special events in the Howard Assembly Room designed to soothe, revitalise and spread joy. Audiences can immerse themselves in a listening session with THABO, embark on a family-friendly adventure with Ladies of Midnight Blue, hear BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Award winner Maddie Morris perform a relaxed concert and bask in a meditative Sound Bath with musicians from the Orchestra of Opera North.
Would you like to volunteer as part of a big art event in the city involving dancing through the streets of Leeds?
TEMPO are a performance group for ages 12-16 based at Yorkshire Dance, learning streetdance and breakdance skills to take out onto the streets and stages of Yorkshire.
All TEMPO members receive a free t-shirt and across the term work on a dance to perform as part of an informal sharing for parents as well as additional opportunities to perform at venues across Leeds and West Yorkshire. In 2023 TEMPO performed at Youth Dance Showcase FRESH as well as in Trinity Shopping Centre.

During this one-day course you'll be introduced to The Meisner Technique, including the famous 'repetition' exercise and our unique way of approaching the technique.
You'll explore your acting instincts by tuning into yourself as a human, connection and what gets in the way of you connecting. You'll learn to observe and respond and take the first steps towards what Meisner calls 'living truthfully'.
