Summer Series: Theo Black

Theo Black is a 26-year-old Cornish singer-songwriter and guitarist currently based in Leeds. He channels his deep connection to the coast and his acoustic musical roots through the vivid lens of city life. A rich musical journey across contrasting styles, while always maintaining his love of songwriting and exploration, has equipped Theo with a unique artistic voice within the Leeds creative scene.

Leeds City Square Artisan Village Monthly Market

Leeds City Square will be hosting a variety of events throughout summer, ranging from family-friendly activities to screenings some of the season’s biggest sporting highlights. The space will see the return of Thor’s Tipi bar, providing drinks and street food, along with giant outdoor games, easels, ice cream and soft drinks for children and local bands and artists performing live music each week.

The poems and folk songs of Sh@nty tell a story of discovery, betrayal, obsession and recovery. Using language borrowed from traditional navigation as well as the jargon of digital space, the narrative is enriched by songs of the sea and original music for concertina.

Poet Lydia Kennaway and musician Cohen Braithwaite-Kilcoyne present ‘… a form of contemporary metaphysical poem where scientific and technological vocabularies are brought into the service of the poetic imagination.’ – Sean O’Brien.
