Loom Hire with Technician

You'll be assigned your own personal loom for the 3 days and you are welcome to weave for as long or as little as you like between 10:00- 16:00 each day.

Looms are set up with a neutral grey warp meaning you can begin weaving straight away. Please let us know if you would like the loom without a warp so that you can add your own.

Please note - an additional £10.00 per day is required to cover the cost of materials.

Hand-Drawn Pattern Tiles inspired by William Morris

In this two-hour creative workshop we’ll be exploring the different techniques and styles used by designer William Morris to create our own handmade pattern tiles.

Taking inspiration from botanicals and wildlife, you’ll be able to design a repeating pattern inspired by one of Europe’s favourite fabric designers, perfect for fabrics, papers, and prints. This workshop is ideal if you are interested in learning how to turn your own drawings into patterns with the expert help of a hands on tutor.

Drypoint Printmaking

Drypoint is a printmaking technique of the intaglio family, in which an image is incised into a plate with a hard pointed needle. Traditionally the plate was copper but now acetate, zinc or Plexiglas are more commonly used. The technique appears to have been invented by the Housebook Master, a south German 15th century artist.
