A concert of premieres with a memorial performance of Sandy Goehr's Manere for clarinet and violin. The programme features new pieces by students of the School of Music and an exciting premiere of a piece written especially for LSTwo by Mexican composer Alex Garcés.

This new duo brings together the talents of celebrated pianist and composer Gwilym Simcock and rising star saxophonist and composer Emma Rawicz. Emma and Gwilym will be performing music from their exciting upcoming duo release Big Visit including original works and arrangements of a variety of other music from the Great American Songbook to Stevie Wonder!
Students perform Brahms’ seven movement large-scale chorus work, Ein deutsches Requiem.
Music direction by Dr Clive McClelland. Clive specialises in topic theory, and is an associate professor. He was previously the chair of the Schubert Institute and chorus master of Leeds Baroque.

David Preston was a finalist at the 2009 Montreux International Guitar competition and is composer and co-leader for the critically acclaimed UK modern-jazz trio ‘Preston Glasgow Lowe’ . He has been active as a sideman to a variety of cross-generational musicians such as Lianne La Havas, Empirical, Asaf Sirkis, Peter Ind, Emma Rawicz, Melody Gardot, Goldie & the Heritage Orchestra, and Ingrid Jensen.

Taking place in Clothworkers Bar, the programme will feature short sets by School of Music bands working in a variety of styles and genres. Each band will demonstrate their performing and creative abilities through a selection of instrument and vocal covers, arrangements and original compositions.

Both performers are musicians of critical acclaim, and work extensively throughout the UK and abroad both as soloists and chamber musicians.
This year's orchestral project continues the recent collaborations between the School of Music at the University of Leeds and the Leeds Conservatoire.
The programme, conducted by Ben Crick, begins with a rare performance of Lili Boulanger's 'D'un matin de printemps' followed by an equally rare performance of Marie Jaëll's cello concerto with guest soloist Valerie Welbanks. We conclude with a performance of Schubert's 8th symphony, 'The unfinished'.

Students will perform a collection of traditional music, contemporary repertoire and new pieces on the School of Music’s Javanese Gamelan.

Katalin Koltai is an internationally established guitarist, chamber musician, and researcher. She developed the Guitar Magnet Capo System and the Ligeti Guitar (2022), making a significant contribution to the guitar’s evolution.
Since 2009, Katalin has been the guitar soloist for the Hungarian State Opera and the UMZE Ensemble. She is the artistic leader of the interdisciplinary new music ensemble, the Barefoot Musicians.
Katalin’s work has received widespread recognition in both academia and the music industry.
