Sarah Casey: Negative Mass Balance

This new display by artist Sarah Casey, explores the fragile state of glacial archaeology through delicate, atmospheric work inspired by objects emerging from ice in the Swiss Alps.

Taking its title from the scientific term for receding glaciers Negative Mass Balance reflects on the unprecedented melting of alpine ice, which reveals ancient artefacts preserved for millennia.

When a shipwreck leaves a robot named Roz stranded on a wild island, she must learn to adapt, befriend the animals, and discover what it truly means to belong.

Based on the best-selling series by Peter Brown. After a shipwreck, an intelligent robot called Roz is stranded on an uninhabited island. To survive the harsh environment, Roz bonds with the island's animals and cares for an orphaned baby goose.

Christopher Robin can’t understand how Winnie the Pooh has found his way to London but realises he must take him back to the Hundred Acre Wood. He’s sad to find the Wood rather run-down and all of his old friends are nowhere to be seen. He eventually discovers them hiding from the heffalumps. Christopher Robin must save them from their fears and at the same time save himself from the dull person he has become.

Borderlines - An Exhibition by Nick Smith

North Bar proudly presents painter Nick Smith's  'Borderlines' as our April exhibition.

Nick Smith is a graduate from Leeds Art University who was born in Oxford and now lives in Ilkley, West Yorkshire. Having only been painting since 2020, he has quickly found his feet and love for architectural form. He has shown his work at the Ones to Watch 2022 exhibition at Sunny Bank Mills, and also in the Tinker Gallery in Ilkley, Open Gallery in Halifax, Skipton town hall and Fresh space in Hackney Wick, London.

Leeds Young Film Festival 2025: The Railway Children Return

A new generation of Railway Children embarks on a heartwarming adventure, helping a young soldier in need and discovering the true meaning of bravery, friendship, and home.

The Railway Children Return is a sequel set during World War II, where three children, Lily, Pattie, and Ted, are evacuated from the bombing-stricken city of Manchester to the rural Yorkshire village of Oakworth, where they are welcomed by Bobbie Waterbury and her family - daughter Annie and grandson Thomas.

 

Recommended age 8+
