June Jazz Café and Jam Session

The friendliest jazz jam in town! Come and join in or just enjoy the fun. All styles and levels welcome – vocals and instrumentals – it’s all about the vibe.

The June jam will be a week earlier than usual – the third Sunday afternoon in the month rather than the final one.

The Jazz Leeds trio will be there as usual to support all the performers. Veggie food and cafe available.

Organised by Jazz Leeds.

Emily Brown

Few singers are less interested in taking a musical journey in a straight line than Emily Brown.

Jazz may be rocked, folk may be funked, and ballads may be taken deeper than a diving bell. Though the route can be unpredictable, the destination is always certain: pure entertainment. We were bowled over when this quartet last played at rush hour jazz, a power-packed 90 minutes of fun!

Specialising in music of the be-bop era, this group lovingly recreates the sounds of the genre, whilst injecting their sets with a wide range of more modern influences and original compositions. Tackling some of the most titanic tunes in jazz history, hold onto your hats, because this band unabashedly takes no prisoners.
