
Guitarist Ant Law’s background mirrors his musical versatility. Described as “a game changer” and “an innovator” according to The Guardian, his ninth album ‘Unified Theories’ features ten original compositions. This music will be the focus of this concert where Ant is joined by long-time ally Michael Chillingworth (alto saxophone), Conor Chaplin (bass) and Ananda Brandão (drums).
Ant’s previous album waas the highly rated ‘Ensconced’ (August 2024) was the first collaboration with Brigitte Beraha, featuring Ant playing acoustic guitar. Before that came ‘Same Moon in the Same World’ (November 2022), now an ongoing project with brilliant saxophonist/composer Alex Hitchcock. Recorded across multiple continents, bridging the gap between London, Amsterdam and New York, it brings together a stellar cast: vibraphonist Joel Ross, bassists Linda May Han Oh, Ben Williams, Jasper Høiby, and drummers Jeff Ballard, Kendrick Scott, Sun-Mi Hong and Eric Harland.
In 2013 Ant’s debut ‘Entanglement’ was released, followed by ‘Zero Sum World’ (2015) and ‘Life I Know’ (2018) – described as “career-defining”. It achieved 5 star reviews, made numerous “best of 2018″ lists, received worldwide airplay and was added to numerous editorial playlists on Spotify. 2020 saw the release of Ant’s 4th album ‘The Sleeper Wakes’.
