Frightening Phobias Workshop

Family-friendly Halloween-themed workshop and tour.

Spiders, clowns, birds… what are you scared of? Join us as we take a look at objects that some people find scary and learn to love these amazing objects.

Enjoy a family craft workshop and then take a tour of our amazing collection store, where we keep all our objects when they're not on display in our museums. 

Little Shoppers

Explore Abbey Fold, Harewood Square and Stephen Harding Gate as a Little Shopper! With a range of play shops, fake food and a trail or craft, little ones can explore the streets and experience the Victorian streets.

Leeds Discovery Centre Behind The Scenes Store Tour

Join us on Wednesdays and Thursdays for one of the best ways to access and see our amazing collections is to enjoy our Behind The Scenes Store Tours. From toucans and telephones, to meteorites and masks, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

We're a unique museum storage facility which preserves and protects Leeds Museums and Galleries collections of over 1.3 million objects. We offer a rare opportunity for hands-on exploration into the natural world, human history and ingenuity.

Halloween Hauntings

This Halloween we invite you to meet the past residents of the estate including the notorious Blue Lady, who is said to roam the corridors at night....

See the house and farm dressed up for a truly spooktacular half term and enjoy creepy crafts, suitable for all the family to enjoy. Explore the house to discover its hidden histories and hear tales of spooky goings on from our spooktacular visitor assistant team. 

Don't forget to dress up in your best Halloween costume to keep the Blue Lady at bay!

Leeds Discovery Centre Half Term Store Tours

Join us during the half term school holidays for behind the scenes tours of the Leeds Museums and Galleries collection store.

Leeds Discovery Centre is home to over 1.3 million object in our collection, most of which are not currently on display. Our purpose built museum storage and conservation facility holds toucans to telephones, meteorites and masks - there's something for everyone to enjoy!

Temple Newsam Autumn Open Day

We invite you to explore the house for a special open day where you can pay what you feel instead of our normal ticket price.

Get a taster of what we have on offer in our beautiful country house. We have some of the countries most treasured collections of art, furniture, interiors, and historical items on display.

There will be lots of activities and experiences for all the family to enjoy. Entry is on a first come, first served basis, there may be limited access due to maximum capacities being reached.

Tea and Talk with the Curator: The Gascoigne Children from Sir Thomas to Douglas

Join Stephanie Davies, Lotherton’s Community Curator, to learn about the lives of the Gascoigne children, how they lived and how this changed over 200 years from Sir Thomas 1745 to Yvonne Gascoigne 1919. Followed by tea in the servants’ rooms with the curator.

This talk complements new exhibition Fashion at Play: Children’s Clothing Through the Ages

Ticket price includes general admission to Lotherton, so make sure you leave time in your day to explore the wider estate.
