A Taste of Yorkshire – Food and Drink Festival

Middleton Railway plays host to its first ever Food and Drink festival ‘A Taste of Yorkshire’. This indoor and outdoor event is the only event of its type in the area.

This two-day event will celebrate the very best regional favourites and local produce. Hot and cold food will be available to buy on site all weekend as well as goodies to take home. Local breweries, a cider bar and cocktail bar are all attending. Over 25 different beers and ciders will be on offer across the weekend.

King Creosote

Since the mid-late 1990s, Kenny Anderson's DIY pop alter-ego King Creosote has released over 100 records (at a relatively conservative guess), and his songs have been covered and performed by artists including Simple Minds and Patti Smith.

Anna Erhard

Anna Erhard returns with her brand new single "Botanical Garden" and announces an extensive tour through Europe and the UK starting from May until November 2024.

"I read this google review from a guy who complained about the bad parking situation in the middle of the Atlantic. I think that’s how I started writing the song and eventually this person who is incredibly judgmental and won’t be pleased by anything, not even by the flowers in the Botanical Garden, came to life.

I can’t wait to play the song live again on the upcoming tour and share more songs very soon.”

Altered Images

Post-punk group formed in Glasgow, 1979. Originally comprising Clare Grogan (vocals), Tony McDaid (guitar), John McElhone (bass), Gerard "Caesar" McInulty (guitar) and Michael "Tich" Anderson (drums).

McInulty left in 1981 to form The Wake with Jim McKinven (guitar/keyboards) replacing him. They soon adopted synthpop stylings under the influence of producers including Martin Rushent and Mike Chapman.

Seth Lakeman

2024 marks the 20th anniversary of Kitty Jay and after an amazing sold-out tour in February the celebrations will continue into Autumn 2024 with a standing tour in October. Seth will be touring again with the band including long-time collaborators Benji Kirkpatrick, Ben Nicholls, Cormac Byrne and Alex Hart playing the album and other live favourites.

Karate

Boston's Karate unraveled the tightly coiled energy of post-hardcore, playing angular riffs with clean, spacious guitar tones and adding a technical precision often intentionally avoided by their scrappier peers. The band's patient tempos and pensive atmospheres made their first two albums (1995's Karate and 1997's In Place of Real Insight) border on slowcore at times, but they later began incorporating a heavy jazz influence into their already heady brew of punk-adjacent styles, adding improvisation and post-rock touches to albums like 2000's Unsolved.
