Emily Barker

"Emily Barker has a gift for great melodies" - The Guardian

“an album of spare, striking beauty” - Mojo ★★★★

“…a kind of Australian equivalent of PJ Harvey’s Let England Shake” - UNCUT 8/10

“‘Hope’ is the thing with feathers –

That perches in the soul –

And sings the tune without the words –

And never stops – at all…” – Emily Dickinson

The opening line of Emily Dickinson’s short poem ‘‘Hope’ is the thing with feathers’ inspired the central image of Emily Barker’s new single ‘Feathered Thing’, written while she navigated cumulative grief.

MJ Lenderman and The Wind

MJ Lenderman is a songwriter born and raised in Asheville, North Carolina. The anatomy of an MJ record might go something like this: warped pedal steels and skuzzed out guitar; a voice reminiscent of the high-lonesome warble of a choirboy. Songs snake their way from a lo-fi home recording to something glossier made with longtime friends at Asheville’s Drop of Sun studios, but the recording setting doesn’t seem to matter much – at its core, a Lenderman song rings true.

Gurriers

Formed on the cusp of a global pandemic, Dublin’s newest alternative addition, Gurriers, embody the emerging Irish genres of post-punk, noise rock and shoegaze. Made up of five best friends, roommates and co-workers Dan Hoff, Emmet White, Ben O’Neill, Mark MacCormack and Pierce Callaghan, each louder than the last.

A Midsummer Night's Dream

Join Leeds Art's Centre this July for a raucous and colourful rendition of Shakespeare's captivating comedy; A Midsummer Night's Dream

Pulling the tale of rival lords and ladies, star crossed lovers and eager mechanicals, into a twenty first century setting. Where the modern industrial heart of Athens clashes with the mystical neon forest of dreams.

Mischief will be sown, substances consumed, forms transfigured, and no one will make it out of the woods quite the same as they were before. But that's OK, with lessons learned all things will end with one hell of a party.
