Murder Inc - The Improvised Murder Mystery

Every night it's a raucous, improvised, made-to-order murder with Murder Inc – where the audience chooses the setting, the characters, and even the motives.

Murder Inc have returned from their stellar stint at Edinburgh Fringe and now the North of England's funniest criminals are back. Murder Inc have been performing regular monthly shows to sold-out crowds in Manchester and Leeds for over nine years and invite you to join us once again for a theme that changes every month.

Ten Years, One Vision: Culture as Resistance - LPFF Closing Event

Cultural expression provides the foundation stone for the endurance of a Palestinian identity, enabling it to remain strong despite 75 years of expulsion, occupation, and destruction.

The closing event of our tenth anniversary programme is less a celebration, more a testament to the powerful and enduring voices of Palestinian film-makers, musicians and artists.

In these darkest of times for Palestinians, art and culture remain uplifting rays of light. They are sources of inspiration, restoration and determination. They defy the destruction of a people.

Foragers

Foragers is a chase film depicting the Israeli Nature Patrol pursuing elderly Palestinians who gather plants classified as protected species, particularly the artichoke-like tumble thistle, 'akkoub, also known as "green gold" and Zaatar. In this documentary infused with fiction, Jumana Manna follows the lives of these elders as they practice the once-accepted cultural tradition of foraging.

This event will also feature a recorded interview with film-maker Jumana Manna.

The Bride & The Dowry

The Bride and the Dowry is one of the first documented testimonies from Palestinian civilians and Mayors, and shows the daily struggles of surviving under the constant threat of settler violence.

The examples in the film feel very contemporary and resonate with what we continue to see on our television screens from the West Bank.

The director, Ibrahim Abu Nab, born in Jerusalem in 1931, was a renowned Palestinian editor, journalist, filmmaker, and poet. In 1965 he established the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) Media Department.

Red Carpet in Gaza

We were amazed and inspired to learn that not one, but two Film Festivals have taken place in the displacement camps of southern Gaza this year.

We bring you a selection of the best films screened at both festivals: Creators Despite Displacement - the Al-Quds (Jerusalem) International Film Festival marking its 7th year – and Al-Aouda Festival, in its 8th year.

With equipment frequently destroyed, many of the poignant films depicting perspectives and feelings on the current reality were shot on phones. Red carpets were rolled out among the tents and rubble.

Lyd

This sci-fi documentary shares multiple pasts, presents, and futures of the city of Lyd in Palestine/Israel. From the perspective of the city herself, the viewer is guided through the lifespan of a five-thousand-year-old city and its residents.
