Brightside is a ride through a lifetime soundtracked by millennial anthems.

This new workout experience combines the energy of a fitness class with a live dance theatre performance.

Led by instructors Lydia Nutter, Freddie Hayes and Tiia Ojala this 50-minute immersive journey delves into the past, present and future of a millennial. Together we’ll climb the hills of childhood dreams, face the sprints of expectation and take on the challenge of financial crisis.

Alisa Oleva: Sounds Like Home

Sounds Like Home creates sonic connections to distant hometowns through a series of sound stations.

Join one of the collective listening walks to discover these sounds from far away places, reflecting on ideas of migration, home and belonging.

Building on relationships artist Alisa Oleva developed during her residency in Leeds last year, the project began as one-to-one walks with people who moved to Leeds from other countries.

Quarantine: Building of Spines

Over 7 days in Leeds Central Library, Quarantine artist Kate Daley hand makes a book containing a work of collective fiction based on conversations with people in the library.

The finished book enters the library’s collection for future readers.

A beautiful object, carefully made, the book is an offering to the people who shaped it, an alternative portrait of the library and the knowledge it holds.

Installation: Leeds’ Low Carbon Chinatown

Addressing the climate crisis through intervening in our food systems, Leeds’ Low Carbon Chinatown is an installation that combines data science and Chinese diasporic food culture.

This two-week installation at Kirkgate Market showcases an experimental food farm and data pop-up store, housing locally grown ingredients that will be used in a one off Supper Club hosted at Kirkgate Market on Friday 15 November, 6.30–8.30pm.

Leeds Venturers

Venturer groups are for young people aged from thirteen to fifteen. 

Venturers take more responsibility for shaping their own group activities, with support and advice from adult volunteers.

Woodcraft Folk is a movement for young people, open to everyone from birth to adult, offering a place where children will grow up in confidence, lern about the world and start to understand how to value our planet and each other. 

Armley Park Lantern Parade - Lantern Decorating Workshop 2

This is the second purly decorating lanten workshop, you will be given a premade paper lantern to decorate with your own design in glue and tissue paper.

The Armley Park Lantern Parade will take place on the evening of Sunday 10th November from 4pm.

Because space is limited and because of the layout of the venue, we need you to read this carefully and book the space you need for the participants you'll be bringing.

Armley Park Lantern Parade - Lantern Decorating Workshop 1

This is the first purely decorating lantern workshop, you will be given a pre-made paper lantern to decorate with your own design in glue and tissue paper.

The Armley Park Lantern Parade will take place on the evening of Sunday 10th November from 4pm..

If you're not able to come to a workshop you can still be involved by coming along to the parade on Sunday 10th November. Check the Facebook page for full details.

This is a ticket only event this year to make sure there's ample space for everyone to work on their lanterns. Please see Tickets below.

Armley Park Lantern Parade - Lantern Building Workshop 2

In this workshop we will be making the willow and paper lanterns for the parade, and in the second session (Sunday 03/11/24 at 1:35 till 2:30pm) we will be decorating them. Your ticket covers you for both workshops. But, if you can't make it to the second please let us know, and you can have undecorated lantern.
