Windrush Day with Howard Gardner

To celebrate Windrush Day, we are very pleased to announce that we will have a guest Bookseller for the Day in the shop.

Howard Gardner, co-writer of ‘Finding Home’, the ground-breaking memoir that gives a vivid account of an important part of British history, will be in the shop between 11am and 3pm, so do pop in to say hello.

We will be hosting a FREE drinks reception at 3pm where Howard will give a reading from the book. There’s no charge to attend but we are asking people to book a spot. Ordering free tickets will confirm your places for 3pm.

Troubled

Troubled is a 60-minute one woman show about love, death and division told with tea and biscuits. Memories of violence clash against a huge-hearted Northern Irish story, revealing the impact of a childhood shaped by conflict. A lone woman stands under the moonlight, far away from home. Big Red and Little Red, the voices in her head, are fighting. Again.

An Evening with Rosie Wilby

We are delighted to welcome Award-winning comedian, author and podcaster Rosie Wilby to the Book Shop. Rosie will be discussing her latest book, The Breakup Monologues: The Unexpected Joy of Heartbreak.

In 2011, Rosie was dumped by email. Obsessing about breakups ever since, she embarked on a personal quest to investigate, understand and conquer the psychology of heartbreak. Part memoir, part investigation, The Breakup Monologues takes on the big questions about our life-changing separations in the modern age of ghosting, breadcrumbing and conscious uncoupling.
