WOJCIECH HAS 1925-2025: Celebrating 100 years of Poland's master of surrealism

In honour of the centenary of visionary director Wojciech Has, we are screening two of his most well known films THE SARAGOSSA MANUSCRIPT and THE HOURGLASS SANATORIUM at The Northern Market in Leeds this April. Join us to celebrate the life and work of a groundbreaking surrealist whose works have inspired a diverse range of creative artists from Martin Scorsese to Jerry Garcia of the Grateful Dead.

Open Mic - at Leeds Libraries in partnership with Launchpad

Looking for a laid-back space to share your creativity? Join Leeds Libraries in partnership with Launchpad for an Open Mic Night at Leeds Central Library. Taking place the last Wednesday of the month from 5pm until 7:30pm.  

Whether you’re experienced or just want to try something new, this is your chance to hop on stage and show what you’ve got in a super chill, welcoming environment. No pressure, just good vibes and good people.

Participants must be under 25, under 16s accompanied by a parent/carer.

Easter Craft Day - Sticker Making and Sign Painting

Join our brilliant artists Lydia and Elnaz in the Stitch-Up Studio this Easter for a fun day of Easter making and creating!

You'll spend the morning learning how to make your very own stickers before breaking for lunch. After lunch you'll be delving into sign painting and making a sign to hang up at home!

All materials are included in the session and you will get to take home your creations.

Please send your children in clothes they dont mind getting messy.

DRINKS AND SNACKS WILL BE PROVIDED.

Easter Craft Day - Weaving & Beaded Windchime Making

Join our brilliant artists Lorna and Elnaz in the Stitch-Up Studio this Easter for a fun day of Easter making and creating!

You'll spend the morning learning how to weave with different yarns on a tapestry loom before breaking for lunch. After lunch you'll be making beautiful beaded windchimes!

All materials are included in the session and you will get to take home your creations.

Please send your children in clothes they dont mind getting messy.

Join our brilliant artists Alice and Elnaz in the Stitch-Up Studio this Easter for a fun day of Easter making and creating!

You'll spend the morning getting messy and making Sensory Spring Slime Jars before breaking for lunch. After lunch you'll be making exciting Spring Pop-up Cards.

All materials are included in the session and you will get to take home your creations.

Canned Beet : Street Party

Once again, Beet Roots Soundsystem is joining forces with Canned Heat to bring you the second instalment of CANNED BEET!

A daytime session of roots reggae and dub, good beer, good food and positive vibrations.

Jam On Toast: Dance Workshop and Jam

A dance workshop followed by an open Jam with live musicians. In these events we provide a space to exercise our creativity through sound and body, to share our practices, and to improvise.

In this edition @amani_sans_r will be sharing a workshop focused on bringing contact with others into improvisation, working on skills of listening, playfulness, and taking and giving space. More info to come x
