Fully funded workshop, suitable for: Community/Faith Leaders & Professionals

This workshop supports community leaders to confidently address the fall-out surrounding acts of community violence, most notably the riots of August 2024. It will provide contextual understanding of issues like Islamophobia and the Far Right, as well as root causes of violent disorder. It also equips participants with skills and confidence to support impacted communities.

Learning Outcomes:

Grounded in the vibrant sounds of gospel and jazz, Lucy-Anne Daniels is a vivid storyteller, creative improviser, and fierce performer. With ‘a voice mature beyond her years’ (The Scotsman, Jim Gilchrist), Lucy-Anne’s effortless control of melody and powerful interpretation of lyric, invite you to partake in a musical communion. For this performance, she debuts a fresh body of work inspired by texts from Maya Angelou, James Baldwin, intertwined with traditional music from her Nigerian heritage and beloved songs by Black British and American artists.

An evening of music featuring artists from Come Play With Me. Think lo-fi beats, singer-songwriter vibes, soul, pop, and indie-folk.

Charlie Cooper writes vintage soul, updated perfectly, sung with deep and husky soul-pipes! Not only comparable with classic voices like Dusty Springfield and Shirley Bassey but also up there with modern soul divas Alice Russell and Sharon Jones, Charlie is a vocal force to be reckoned with.

British lyric soprano Lucy Farrimond has captivated audiences at prestigious venues across the UK and internationally, including the Royal Albert Hall, The Bridgewater Hall, Snape Maltings, The Stoller Hall, St. John’s Smith Square, and the Embassy of the United Kingdom in Paris.  Featured on major television and radio networks such as BBC, ITV, BBC Radio 4, and BBC Radio 3, she has been recognised as a "rising star soprano”.

Janice Burns & Jon Doran are an award-winning Anglo-Scottish duo who came together after discovering a shared love of traditional music and songs that tell vivid stories about the nature of life and our place in the world.
