Responding to the Riots Workshop: supporting communities to react and stay safe

Fully funded workshop, suitable for: Community/Faith Leaders & Professionals

This workshop supports community leaders to confidently address the fall-out surrounding acts of community violence, most notably the riots of August 2024. It will provide contextual understanding of issues like Islamophobia and the Far Right, as well as root causes of violent disorder. It also equips participants with skills and confidence to support impacted communities.

With ‘a voice mature beyond her years’ (The Scotsman, Jim Gilchrist), Lucy-Anne’s effortless control of melody and powerful interpretation of lyric, invite you to partake in a musical communion. For this performance, she debuts a fresh body of work inspired by texts from Maya Angelou, James Baldwin, intertwined with traditional music from her Nigerian heritage and beloved songs by Black British and American artists.
