Her Unstable Materials is an exciting exhibition of new ceramic sculptures by Stella Baraklianou at BLANK_ Leeds. Returning to clay as a material, this exhibition bridges her previous photographic work with textiles and a significant new body of sculptural works with the addition of interactive elements. 

The exhibition and artist talk is made possible by funding from the Henry Moore Foundation.

Whitelock’s Dinner Club returns for 2025. On Thursday 30th January, our Chefs Seb & Jordan bring you a delicious “Veganuary” five course vegan tasting menu.

Enjoy a feast featuring ‘scallops,’ BBQ corn elotes, smoked aubergine katsu, plant-based ‘beef’ Wellington, and cherry chocolate mousse.

Expect vibrant flavours and fresh produce, delivered by Seb & Jordan’s passion and skill, and a menu full of exciting and interesting dishes. An unforgettable dining experience.

As usual, there will be an optional drinks pairing menu to choose on the night itself.

Join us for a lively evening of traditional Scottish dancing and music at The Attic, on every last Friday of the month [with some exceptions - please see below dates]. Bring your friends, family, or come along solo – everyone is welcome!

No prior experience is necessary - come and enjoy the joy of a ceilidh, a traditional Scottish social gathering filled with energetic dances and live music. The wonderful Captain Bullhead band will keep the music flowing all night, ensuring you have a fantastic time.

From the smooth crooning of Sinatra standards to the infectious rhythms of swing dance music, Frankly Jazz delivers a musical experience that's both nostalgic and exhilarating.

Rosie Miles + support [live at The Attic]

Alt-folk singer songwriter Rosie Miles is a storyteller whose soaring melodies and poetic lyrics serve as her ink and pen. ‘A gifted and charismatic songwriter’ (Tom Robinson, BBC Radio 6). Inspired by Joni Mitchell, Madison Cunningham, and Laura Marling, her music dances effortlessly between the worlds of Indie, Folk & Jazz, evoking a welcome nostalgia of the 70s songwriter movement. Rosie is performing an exclusive solo headline show at the Attic to celebrate the recent release of her sophomore EP Meet You in the Morning in the city where she wrote it.

LIVEwire Showcase - Polarbear and Testament

Steven Camden, aka Polarbear, is an acclaimed spoken word artist, YA novelist, playwright, and screenwriter. Testament is a spoken word artist, rapper, theatre-maker, and world record-breaking human beatboxer! Alongside our feature acts will be school pupils from around Leeds who've participated in poetry workshops as part of our festival programme. Part of Leeds Storytelling Festival 2025.

About the Talk 
How to make sense of the present moment? This talk presents one framing, drawing on the notion of the ‘Market Turn’ introduced by the Oxford economic historian Avner Offer. Beginning in the 1980s, the UK, together with the US and some other high-income countries, began to shift away from social democracy towards market liberalism – the Market Turn.
