Julie Atthews is a contemporary textile artist working with fabrics, threads and more unusual materials to create her artworks. Intrigued by the impact of nature upon wellbeing Julie is influenced by the colours, textures and surfaces within natural forms aiming to capture qualities that rekindle positive feelings and memories associated with nature experiences.
Julie is one of 27 artists and makers participating in the annual Artists Around Wetherby Open Studios Event. Julie will be exhibiting her work at Location 24, TOFF (The Old Friends Factory), Wetherby, sharing the venue with Simon Mountford, Gary Launder and Phil Toft. This will be a great opportunity to see an exciting and diverse collection of artworks, to meet the makers and to learn more about how the works are created.
At the venue refreshments will be available for a donation to Yorkshire Cancer Research providing the perfect excuse to stay for a chat and to enjoy the artwork on show. Each artist has also donated a piece of artwork and there will be an opportunity to win one of these with monies raised going to Yorkshire Cancer Research.
