Glass, Light, Tradition - A one-day stained glass workshop

This one-day stained glass workshop is an invitation to step into an ancient art form — to cut, shape, and join pieces of coloured glass into a leaded panel that transforms with every shift of light.

Guided  by over three decades of experience, I’ll share not only the practical skills but also the subtleties that give stained glass its unique character.

By the end of the day, you’ll have created a panel — a composition of colour and form that reveals its true beauty when light passes through.

Junyan Chen & Alim Beisembayev

Junyan Chen – piano
Alim Beisembayev – piano

Francis Poulenc - Elégie (for two pianos)
Francis Poulenc - Sonata for piano four hands
Sergei Rachmaninov - Suite for two pianos No 1
Sergei Rachmaninov - Symphonic Dances (for two pianos)

Echoing Route/Root’s themes of memory, migration and the tension between vulnerability and grandeur, this all-20th-century programme for two pianos balances intimacy and power. Francis Poulenc’s Elégie is brief but poignant, while his Sonata for piano four hands is full of quirky charm.

Morning Glass Fusing Class

Join me for one of my most popular classes and create your own unique piece of glass art. Using frits, powders, stringers, and crushed glass, you’ll explore colour, texture, and design to produce something truly special.
Whether you come alone, with friends, or as part of a family day out, this workshop is a relaxed and creative way to spend a morning. Many people return again and again to try new ideas — and if you’d like a private group session for a celebration or gathering, I’m happy to arrange that.

Autumn Garland Making Workshop with Esk Haus

Come along to Terminus Tap Room and Bottle Shop, for September's edition of Creative Club run by local artist Amy (Studio Esk Haus). Get creative and paint wooden pendants with Autumnal designs before stringing them up to create a small decorative garland. Enjoy a fun and relaxing atmosphere.

Don't worry if you're a complete beginner. The purpose is to relax and do something mindfully.. no pressure! Being creative is for everyone :) but this event is for the grown ups only!

Autumn Equinox Sound Bath with Gentle Yoga and Live Harp

A sound bath is a guided experience using therapeutic instruments such as crystal bowls and chimes to immerse participants in calming sound frequencies that help the body and mind to relax. These soothing vibrations promote deep rest, reduce stress, and support mental clarity.

Georgie Buchanan brings a unique and powerful approach to sound baths by weaving in live harp and song alongside singing bowls and chimes. Participants often describe this as a deeply moving and restorative experience, enhancing their ability to fully relax and reset.
