At Home with the Calverley's: Calverley Old Hall Open Days

Join us for public Open Days at Calverley Old Hall in September 2025 as part of Heritage Open Days. 

Visit the finished, fully furnished Landmark and see the hireable Community Space. Explore the craftsmanship, creativity and care which has contributed to this major restoration project completed in 2024. 

Alongside the new Landmark you will also be able to visit the Community Space which is available throughout the year for all to hire and use.

Bottomless Boat Tours at Water Lane Boathouse

Set sail on the Leeds to Liverpool canal for a 90 minute booze cruise, led by Captain John who’ll be on hand to point out landmarks and hidden gems along the route, while you sip, soak up the views and enjoy bottomless beer or prosecco. After the trip, you’ll return to Water Lane for a 2hr table reservation and a pizza – all included in the ticket price.

Back and Forth – 1960s & 1970s Photography Trail

To celebrate our 60th anniversary, we are pleased to present a city centre photography trail, showing street scenes from 1960s & 1970s Leeds.

‘Back and Forth’ is a six stop photography trail showing street photography from the 1960s and 1970s. Swing by the locations below and search for our photograph in their window. The photographs show the location on the trail 50-60 years ago. Spot the similarities and the differences in what you see around you, and what you see in the photograph.

Leeds Discovery Centre offers a unique opportunity for hands-on exploration into the natural world, human history and ingenuity. Come and explore behind the scenes of our museum and discover the Leeds collections up close and personal.

These tours are available on Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout the summer holidays.

Heritage Open Days - Heritage Tour of Leeds Central Library

In celebration of Heritage Open Days 2025 we invite you to join us for an entertaining trip behind the scenes of our magnificent Grade II* listed building. Find out about the architecture, history and famous visitors, as well as visiting some secret corners! Tours last approximately 1 hour and leave from the ground floor atrium, outside the Lending department.
