Community Vegetable Garden | Open Volunteer Sessions

Come on down get your hands dirty and reconnect with nature. Help us shape our new Community Garden Space and learnt how to grow your own food. We'll provide all the necessary tools, so you can dive right in and contribute to our thriving vegetable garden. These sessions are open to anyone looking for a green space to grow in, or even just a break from your day. Bring along your friends or make some new ones!

Learn to Roller Skate - Fundamental skills (beginners) 17+

 

Suitable for complete beginners

Absolutely no previous roller skate experience is needed to attend this class.  We warmly welcome those who are starting their roller skate journey.

Numbers are limited to ensure we can keep an optimum student to Skate Coach ratio.

Skate hire (including protective pads) available - please ensure you purchase a separate Skate hire ticket for each person requiring skates.

Friday Night Social Ages 17+

 

Friday Night Social is our weekly wind down and provides an alcohol-free space for adults to chat and skate in Leeds

What is a Friday Night Skate Social?

Come and skate, have a chat, meet other skaters in the community and unwind! Our skate marshalls are here to ensure everyone has a great time and skate safely.

The wheel library will be available at this session to allow you to try different wheels on your skates.

The Guide Dogs Run - Leeds

Looking for a great day out with a twist? Join us at The Guide Dogs Run and enjoy a fun run with a difference – everyone dresses as a dog!

On Saturday 22 June 2024 The Guide Dogs Run will be taking over Roundhay Park. The course is approx. 5k and you can tackle it however suits you, whether you want to run, jog or stroll. Take part with your friends, family, and four-legged friends and together we can raise vital funds for Guide Dogs.

May – Youth Aerial & Circus Classes (Ages 7+)

Super excited to bring a new opportunity for children and young people to come and learn aerial circus from professional instructors.

These classes will work across different aerial disciplines, giving students the opportunity to learn a variety of skills including; aerial trapeze, hoop and sling. Each week, students will develop their own combos and sequences, bringing all their new skills together.

All abilities are welcome whether you’ve tried some apparatus before or just starting out, each class will have something that everybody loves.

Introduction to Yoga Course

Get to grips with yoga basics, with Yoga Hero’s Introduction to Yoga Course.

Yoga Hero’s Introduction to Yoga Course is perfect for those new to yoga, those who have tried and enjoyed a few classes, and those wanting to immerse themselves in the basics and techniques behind the practice.

Each week starts with the explanation of a concept, some time to try it out and ask questions, and then a yoga session with relaxation to finish.

Wellbeing Weekend at Opera North

Opera North puts wellbeing centre-stage this month, with four special events in the Howard Assembly Room designed to soothe, revitalise and spread joy. Audiences can immerse themselves in a listening session with THABO, embark on a family-friendly adventure with Ladies of Midnight Blue, hear BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Award winner Maddie Morris perform a relaxed concert and bask in a meditative Sound Bath with musicians from the Orchestra of Opera North.

Doodle Chat in the Park with Edek Thompson

Join Edek's Doodle Chat sessions in our local green space, Burley Park, for a relaxing blend of creativity and conversation. Explore the surrounding inspiration, and stretch your legs as we sketch, doodle, and connect amidst nature.

Edek’s Doodle Chat is a relaxed social group which anyone is welcome to join for free! Our aim during these sessions is to provide everyone with safe space to talk and listen. An opportunity to be social and prioritise well-being with your community. 

Keep Crafting

Come along to our monthly creative session for adults on the first Wednesday of each month.

It’s a great way to pick up a new skill, or practice an existing one, and speak to other people in a relaxed environment.

Join us for a cup of tea and craft making, with different activities each month.

This event is FREE and no experience is necessary.
