Leeds Photo Social

Our photo socials are open to everyone and are absolutely free. This is a friendly event for anyone who wants to share their work or meet other people from the Leeds photography community. These socials are facilitated by Dan Wheeler from our sister lab, Make It Easy.

Free Drop-In Piano Dissection Crafting Workshop with Pianodrome

Join the Pianodrome Team for Free, Drop-in Piano Dissection Workshops at Besbrode Pianos.

Drop-in and lend a hand or stay all day!

The Pianodrome will dissect defunct pianos one-by-one into component parts to be later re-purposed into 12 magnificent piano planters bursting with flowers, grasses, vegetables and herbs grown by local community gardening groups. These planters will bring a sensory explosion of colours, smells and tastes to the streets of Leeds and Bradford city centres around The Leeds International Piano Competition 2024.

The Vicarages Project: Creative Workshop

Drop in and join me for two FREE family friendly creative workshops for Kirkstall residents to come together to try out some arts and crafts techniques as part of The Vicarage’s project as part of the Kirkstall Art Trail.

Fabric Printing and Flower Hammering with Kirkstall wildflowers from the fabulous @sparkingcommunity.

​THURSDAY 11th JULY 6pm-9pm

Embroidery and Modern Applique

​Sessions are free, open to all ages and there is no need to book, just drop in.

Fayre in the Square at Wellington Place

A fresh, new take on the traditional farmer’s market, Fayre in the Square combines food traders, live music, local art market traders and family-friendly fun for a truly unique summer experience. Whether you’re heading down after work on a Friday evening, or bringing the whole family down on a Saturday afternoon, these open-to-all sessions are the perfect spot to meet up with friends for an afternoon of food, drinks and shopping.

Heritage Open Days - Urban Sketching in Leeds Central Library

Drop in between 3pm and 8pm Wednesday 11th September 2024.

The building, by George Corson (1829-1910), offers spectacular interiors including the Tiled Hall, the staircases and specialist libraries and reflects Corson’s eclectic interests which included Islamic architecture.
Participants should bring their own materials, sketchbook and folding seating if required.

Under 16’s must be accompanied by an adult.

Life Drawing 4-week course with life model.

Mondays in October 7, 14, 21, 28 - 5.30 - 7.30pm

Venture into life drawing in this relaxed, supportive four-week course taught by artist and tutor Paul Digby.

You'll explore figure drawing including line, gesture and shade to develop your own artistic style.

Paul has a strong portfolio exhibiting extensively, including EAST Gallery, Royal Society of Sculptors Gallery, Leeds City Gallery, the Cornerhouse in Manchester and the Saatchi Gallery. www.pauldigby.co.uk
