Explore Leeds City Museum by night in this after-hours event inspired by Day of the Dead.

Day of the Dead is a tradition celebrated in Mexico and across Latin America, where families and friends gather to remember those who have died. They make altars in their homes called ofrendas decorated with calveras (colourfully decorated sugar or clay skulls), calacas (skeletons) and marigold flowers. As part of our Living with Death exhibition we're bringing this unique festival to Leeds, for one night only!

- Meet our curators for a guided tour of the Living with Death exhibition
- Get creative with a ceramic skull decorating workshop
- Artist Ellie Harrison will be representing her collaboration with Zion Arts Studio, Mexico City – join her to contribute to the ofrenda with messages, objects or offerings
- Sugar skull-themed face painting
- Taste a Yorkshire interpretation of pan de muerto (bread of the dead) inspired by research and hospitality in Tultepec, Mexico
- DJ with music from Central and South America
- Bar and Mexican-themed food truck

Tickets £10 each.

Doors open 5.30pm.
