After an inspiring year championing creativity in Leeds, Let Us See You concludes with a spectacular exhibition at Sunny Bank Mills Gallery in Leeds. This eagerly awaited event showcases the project’s standout works, offering a final opportunity to appreciate the incredible talents of local artists. Supported with funding from Leeds Inspired, part of Leeds City Council, Aire Place Studios proudly collaborates with Sunny Bank Mills to close a transformative chapter for the city’s art community.

New exhibition at Hyde Park Art Club. 

Julia McKinlay’s practice is a process of discovering a language of sculptural forms. Her work explores the boundaries of the human made in relation to organic and lithic matter. McKinlay’s practice is spatial, she is interested in how objects and images interact in space and form connections with the viewer, sometimes creating imagined worlds for the viewer to explore.

Sustainability is a word hung on many lips at this moment in time, as the human race struggles to come to terms with its own collective mortality. For some it is a hoax, for others a clarion call to action; but to all it is a question, a debate, an argument to be had. Contemporary Art has for many years looked at the nature of its own creation; the materials used in its production, the life of the object beyond this, and the environmental credentials of the artist as a producer in a world of stuff. 

‘Traumas of The Flesh’ looks at feminist issues and their impact on mental health. For this exhibition Mo Robertson builds an immersive environment containing a series of sculptures made from textiles and casting material.

The exhibition is part of a cathartic process, one in which the artist creates a visual response to personal trauma and aims to raise awareness that many scars lie beneath the surface.
