James is a writer and poet. A long-term resident of Leeds and
Bridlington, his third collection of poems, Coma Songs was published in 2003 and reprinted in 2006
Be part of the studio audience for a pair of radio-theatre shows plus experience immersive sound-art installations about three kinds of "Home From Home" spaces in Leeds: urban gardens, teen creative spots, and buses.

This workshop is for young people aged 11 years and over, with the help of an adult who must stay for the duration of the workshop.
We all have those clothes we've fallen a bit out of love with or that we wish were more 'us.' In this workshop you'll learn how to add applique and hand embroidery to clothes that you already have to make them more you and reflect your personality more.
Please bring with you clothes that you would like to revamp.

During this workshop you'll learn how to make your own flowers from fabric, adding details with simple hand embroidery before adding them to a piece of beautiful fabric to make a summer garden or vase of flowers.
When completed the artwork will be suitable for framing, hanging on the wall or making greetings cards and will make great gifts for loved ones.

Artful Embroidery is an inspiring workshop to nourish your creativity and to learn new and exciting embroidery skills.
Under the guidance of Louise you'll begin the workshop by learning a selection of hand embroidery stitches - both how to embroider these traditionally and then altering them to make new and interesting effects. You'll embroider away with new stitches being taught as needed.
This workshop is for children aged 5 years and over, with the help of an adult who must stay for the duration of the workshop.
Using a selection of fabrics and threads you will create your own wrist cuff and badge. Using hand embroidery you can make your own design or use the templates provided.
You may like to create a summer garden, the beach, embroider your name or favourite thing.
By the end of the workshop you'll have a wrist cuff and badge to proudly wear.
