Rubbish Words

Drop in, collage and create poems from funky and fabulous recyclables, such as old posters and theatre programmes! A free event for all ages and spanning three days, brought to you by the National Poetry Centre, and made possible thanks to funding from Leeds City Council's Cultural Investment Programme Grow: Project strand and the University of Leeds.

Budding bairds don't need to attend every day - stay as long as you like.

Sunshine on the Fallen Tree

This immersive sound and light sculpture is made from locally sourced Ash trees felled due to Ash dieback disease. Using a traditional steam bent method combined with re-usable innovative technology and a moving sound composition, we are all invited to reflect on the life of a tree and how to fill the spaces of species lost to climate change.
