Plantfood + Mikoudi + Kaesu & Alex FB - Live At Brudenell Social Club Leeds

Plantfood are a 6 piece blood-pumping alt-jazz force summoning up an intricate mix of electronic and acoustic layers with influences all the way from spiritual jazz to contemporary club music. Coming out of Leeds Conservatoire in 2021, their heavyweight musicianship and exciting compositions/arrangements had them destined for big things from the start. After conquering the buzzing local alt-jazz & beats scene very quickly, they began dropping musical bombs/releases worldwide with a brace of self-release singles and EPs plus live appearances beyond the Leeds city boundary.

The Sculpture Gallery Guest Artist: Mark Gibbs

Our new Guest Artist for the month – Mark Gibbs – is an exciting sculptor, drawing inspiration from the shapes, patterns and behaviours in the natural world.

The variety of materials he employs is astounding, ranging from recycled wire and paper to kitchen foil, ceramics, old batteries, ash, banknotes, cowry shells, and fossil shark teeth. Mark's art expresses his interest in nature and the environment, in addition to his exploration of military conflict.
