A rare chance to witness one of the most bizarre horror movies ever made: DEVIL STORY!
A young couple take refuge in a haunted hotel after their car breaks down in the French countryside. They soon become ensnared in a macabre mystery involving a menagerie of menacing monsters: an indiscriminately murderous Nazi mutant; a cursed ghost ship crew; a rampaging possessed horse and a well-endowed, goo-oozing mummy!
As part of the 2024 Farsley Literature Festival we are excited to bring you this new event, join us in the shop for an evening of Writing for Wellness. Join Charlotte Russell (MA CW) for a character driven, story-based journalling session to boost self-worth and leave you feeling empowered. Suitable for complete beginners or those who write often, this creative writing event will not only demonstrate the benefits of journalling but will leave you feeling empowered, restored and confident.
Campy sci-fi action, a killer theme song, charming practical effects, and bizarre, badly translated dialogue... it can only be... THE GREEN SLIME!
Wychbury and friends will be joining us for an Autumnal session at Canned Heat, for an intimate evening of folk music.
If you joined us back in April, you know this is not to be missed.
A brand new theatre show exploring self-discovery, belonging and the 'hidden homeless' is coming to Leeds this autumn.
The Lodger is a thought provoking, sometimes tragic, sometimes hilarious tale which follows the journey of the show's eponymous character who is 'hidden homeless' - a term referring to someone who has no fixed address.
The Lodger spends her time travelling from place to place without any sense of stability; she is relentless and running into the unknown.
Starting in the shadow of the Black Prince, in City Square, this three-hour tour is run by It's The Beer Talking, and led by author and beer writer Simon Jenkins and former Tetley PR officer Nicky Massen.
You’ll learn how our city is still shaped by its 13th century geography, how it was the scene of audacious industrial espionage, the key role it played in the birth of a global entertainment industry – and about an extraordinary human auction, where people were sold to the highest bidder, a little over a century ago.
Join us for an exciting evening of comedy.
Performers from across the regions with be telling tall tales and performing material they have carefully cultivated from a wealth of experience. You might just catch the next big thing on the cheap or find that you’re the only one laughing in the room to a joke lost to the rest of the world.
This month’s line up is made of ridiculously talented comedians as always.
What can a theoretical approach to Black British history tell us about race and racism in the prison system? Dr Liam J Liburd examines a disturbing moment in British history to reveal the role of white supremacist movements in 1970s Britain.
