Not many bands can claim that they were formed in a cemetery. But it was a perfect and appropriately poetic setting for the birth of roots music trailblazers The Pine Hill Haints. Just to address the obvious, the word “haint,” of archaic English origin, means to haunt or to inhabit aggressively. And with a medium-like connection, The Haints have spent the last two decades resurrecting all kinds of music that has passed out of the mainstream – in a style they call “Alabama Ghost Country.”

Two decades since debuting as the masked-and-nicknamed drummer and vocalist of Animal Collective, Noah Lennox has led so many creative lives, navigated so many different styles, and been part of so many beloved recordings, that it can be easy to overlook just how consistent his creative vision has remained.

Dynamic Welsh trio Adwaith proudly announce the release of their highly anticipated third album, Solas. Meaning “light of being” or “enlightenment” in Celtic, Solas marks a significant milestone in the band’s journey. Recorded across diverse locations—including the Outer Hebrides in Scotland, Lisbon in Portugal, and multiple studios in Wales—Solas reflects Adwaith’s growth and evolution as artists.

Pyramid's family friendly Winter Art Market takes place on Saturday 7th December from 11am to 3pm at the Pyramid Studio in Holbeck. 

This is a free event, and they'll be serving sweet treats and hot cocoa as well as running a family-friendly workshop to get you in the festive spirit. 

Stalls feature artwork from local makers and a fundraising stall for Pyramid where all money raised will go towards improving access and inclusion in the arts for people with learning disabilities.

Blending buzz-saw twin guitars, booming horns and a high-octane live set, Coldwave’s abrasive brand of post-punk is controlled in its chaos. The six-piece’s frantic instrumentation forms the landscape for uncompromising, half-spoken vocal delivery that captures the anxiety and mundanity of the day-to-day. Coldwave have asserted themselves in the South Australian music landscape over the last three years and are primed to cut their teeth over state borders in 2023.

Leeds Conservatoire jazz graduate Sophie Speed on saxophone, showcases a passion for the jazz tradition. Jeff Hewer is a jazz guitarist and composer from Toronto, Canada who now lives in Leeds and has been playing for 20 years in many different musical settings – with duos, trios, quartets, and big bands.
