There’s a healing that happens when we read, write and embroider; words, meanings and memories become stitched into our souls and we understand their significance, why they resonate with us, why they have stayed with us. In the quiet moments of embroidery we listen to the whispers from the tender, hidden parts of our hearts and we understand ourselves more.
You will create your own pair of pot holders or coffee mug rugs or plant pot mats, it's up to you how you will use your gorgeous weaving.
You will create your own individual outcome as you will design your own pattern and be able to select from a large range of colourful cotton loops to use within your work.
There will be lots of inspiration and ideas to help you as well as group demonstrations and one to one support throughout.
In this fun and dynamic session, we’ll dive into the playful world of patterns through an exciting mix of 3D paper construction, vibrant collage, expressive drawing, and the fundamentals of repeat pattern making. Whether you’re a seasoned designer looking to spark fresh ideas, or a curious beginner ready to explore new techniques, Pattern Play offers a joyful space to experiment, invent, and be inspired.

“One of the most visionary artists to arise from the pre-digital, shot on video underground, director Charles Pinion’s awe-inspiring features fearlessly blurred the lines between punk rock, Cinema of Transgression, avant-garde surrealism, p*rnography and backyard splatter films. Saturn’s Core is proud to present two of Pinion’s most daring works with newly reconstructed, director approved restorations from the original analog master tapes.

Please come and view the work of our latest Guest Artist, throughout the month of May. Working from her studio near Tadcaster in North Yorkshire, Victoria Ferrand Scott’s work is often abstract, exploring forms of indeterminable identity which seem to have their own inner life, open to diverse interpretation. She likes to retain a certain mystery as to the origins of the pieces.
