We are proud to announce that Leeds Legend, Kevin Sinfield will be joining us in the shop again to meet fans and sign copies of the paperback publication of Try.

Try, by fundraising heroes, rugby legends and best friends Rob Burrow and Kevin Sinfield, is a big-hearted picture book about a friendship between two young boys. What makes someone a hero? That’s what best friends Rob and Kevin are trying to find out.

Offshoots is at The Vinyl Whistle for the first time, featuring Jack Williams and Elio Tome, Oli Reeves and Joe Cross.

Combining the detailed synth work and live looping of Elia Tomé with the ambient soundscapes and striking string textures of Jack Williams. This collaboration fuses elements to create evocative and rich sonic landscapes, bore from guided improvisation combined with audio visual elements.

Films at Heart: Typist Artist Pirate King

The film is a fictionalised portrait of the late “avant-garde and misunderstood” artist Audrey Amiss, starring Monica Dolan as the artist and Kelly Macdonald as her fictional psychiatric nurse.

Carol Morley’s warm and sympathetic film imagines the artist, whose mental illness curtailed her ambitions, on a tragicomic road trip to exhibit her work. The Guardian

Tim has lived in West Yorkshire most of his life. He started writing after recovering from a Stroke in 2017. Now he helps run a food bank and Under the Lobby Lights (previously Getting Gobby in the Lobby) spoken word night in Wakefield. His first pamphlet Taking 6 away from 100 was published in December 2023.

She calls Nashville, Tennessee home these days, but her roots are deep in Texas where she was born and raised. Laven is currently building a team to produce her third album titled, Hard Truths.
