Mono screen printing involves applying or painting colour directly onto an open screen in order to create unique prints. You will experiment with the application of paint and pastels exploring how different effects can be achieved. You will work in a spontaneous manner, creating a series of prints. There will be opportunity to see how this method can be combined with the use of stencils.
What experience do I need?
This course is suitable for the beginner, however people with some screen printing experience may also enjoy and benefit from this alternate way of printing. The loose and abstract nature of mono screen printing can add an extra dimension to your practice.

Accessibility
Our aim is to bring printmaking to as many people as possible. By their nature, some printmaking processes involve an amount of physical effort. Leeds Print Workshop is based in a basement studio at Patrick Studios, a bespoke venue for artists operated by East Street Arts. It is wheelchair accessible, with a lift, larger than standard doors and accessible toilet facilities. We recognise that everybody’s accessibility needs may differ, therefore please email us at hello@leedsprintworkshop.org to discuss any concerns you may have before booking. There is one blue badge car parking space to the side of the building on Rider Street, subject to availability.
Please note: we regret that, for safety reasons, only those over the age of 16 will be permitted to undertake the course.
