Andrian Melka, a British-Albanian sculptor based near York, is considered one of the finest figurative sculptors in the UK today, and works mainly in stone, marble, bronze and ceramics. Andrian has received many awards and been commissioned by several famous clients and institutions.
Explore his latest, critically acclaimed exhibition, “Ballet Unveiled: Sculpting Strength and Vulnerability” (2nd October – 31st October). These beautiful and powerful pieces were inspired by photographing dancers from the Royal Ballet between 2022 and 2025. Andrian captures both the strength and fragility of ballet dancers, his passion for ballet being ignited in 2021 when commissioned to sculpt a statue of Rudolf Nureyev. He gained insight into the precise postures and gestures that define ballet’s beauty and complexity, preserving those fleeting moments.
