Public Art Walk

Join us on a walk around the University of Leeds campus to explore our collection of Public Art.

Take some time out of your day to enjoy a breath of fresh air, stretch your legs and take in the sights of the University of Leeds. Learn some interesting facts about the art works around campus – revisit familiar favourites and discover hidden gems.

Works to see may include Barbara Hepworth’s ‘Dual Form’ and Hubert Dalwood’s ‘Untitled Bas-Relief’, along with works by Mitzi Cunliffe, Quentin Bell, Lorna Green and many more.

Leeds LS6 Queer History Tour

Queer history is all around us. The building we walk past on the way to work might have witnessed the first meeting of a campaign group; the bus stop we use every day might be remembered fondly as the site of someone’s first kiss. But like many marginalised experiences, too often this history remains invisible.

On this walking tour, Kit will take you on a tour of Woodhouse and Hyde Park's queer history highlights. From early Pride to squats, from wartime genderqueers to gay hotlines, you'll see the city and its past in a new light.

Online Talk: Design at M&S

Our Archivist will share highlights from the collection, and for the duration of the event will be on hand to answer any questions via the chat box.

This is a free online event, book your place to receive details of how to join the talk.

Don’t worry if you miss any of our online talks, they’re all available on our You Tube channel to view at a time that suits you.

Making It Work: A panel discussion and Q&A on being a freelance creative.

Join us for a panel talk discussing the experiences of being a freelance artist with artists Amelia Frances Wood, Rosie Vohra and Anne-Marie Atkinson, chaired by Arts Director of Sunnybank Mills, Anna Turzynski. The life of an artist is one that is often shrouded in mystery and seems financially unattainable. We’re bringing together artists and creatives with different experiences and levels of freelance work in the arts, to open up a dialogue around the realities, challenges and positives of working as an artist.
