Nothing Lasts Forever: Peter Mitchell

Leeds Art Gallery is thrilled to present a major retrospective of British documentary photographer Peter Mitchell.

Known for documenting Leeds throughout his career, the exhibition will explore and reflect upon key bodies of work from Mitchell’s remarkable career and feature works previously unseen by the public. Peter Mitchell has a long-rooted connection with Leeds and ‘Nothing Lasts Forever’ marks nearly half a century since Mitchell’s first exhibition at Leeds Art Gallery in 1975.

Bookmaking and Image Sequencing Workshop

In the bookmaking and Image sequencing workshop you will learn how to make a simple hand made photo book as well as the importance of image sequencing. This workshop is designed to change the way you think about your photographic/creative practice. The simple act of thinking about sequences and work for books can revolutionise your approach to your work.

We will spend the morning of the workshop discussing image sequencing and looking at some sequences in published photo-books as well as some hand made books.

Raging! Photography Exhibition

Created by Grace Wilkinson and Sarah Oglesby, Raging! is a photography project that sticks two fingers up to women+ being seen and not heard.

This vibrant, punchy and ironic commentary on societal expectation establishes a space where women+ can be loud, outrageous and angry about the things that affect us on a daily basis. Women+ like they’ve never been seen before, or maybe they have but they were just 'hormonal'.
