Four prominent North Art artists come together to create a breath-taking exhibition that will be shown in the main gallery. From powerful and immersive landscapes, alchemic and delicately layered paintings, mesmerizing patterns and multi dimensional creations.

'A Journey Of Conscious Awakening' by Amal Joy

Amal Joy presents 'A Journey Of Conscious Awakening', an exhibition of paintings exploring themes of spirituality, the natural world and sacred connection.

"Born in Kerala, India, I initially pursued a path in mechanical engineering, earning a degree in this field. I started doing art in my engineering years and this led me to the world of fine arts. Relocating to the United Kingdom, I developed my artistic skills by enrolling in BA Fine Art at Leeds Beckett University, where I delved into the nuances of artistic expression and conceptual exploration.

An evening with Peter Mitchell

One of the most renowned photographers of the 20th century, Peter Mitchell is perhaps most well-known for his documentary photography of Leeds across the 1970s and 80s while working as a delivery truck driver.

In celebration of Mitchell’s exhibition at Leeds Art Gallery, Nothing Lasts Forever, this special evening talk will see the artist himself reflecting on his long-rooted connection with the city of Leeds. Mitchell will share stories from his remarkable photography career and how his most iconic works came to be. This event will be interpreted in BSL.

Sheila Gaffney: Embodied Dreaming

Blenheim Walk Gallery is pleased to present Sheila Gaffney’s exhibition 'Embodied Dreaming'. Representative of her entire oeuvre, the exhibition, brings together for the first time a number of sculptures, drawings, video installation and image works, lightboxes, as well as unseen process-based models, and research material, highlighting the importance of process in her practice. The title of the exhibition is inspired by her doctoral thesis titled 'Embodied Dreaming' as a Sculptural Practice.

Africa Fashion Show Exhibition Yorkshire (AFSEY)

AFSEY, the Africa Fashion Show & Exhibitions Yorkshire, is an exciting event that brings together the rich heritage of African fabrics, contemporary designs, and Yorkshire culture. Our aim is to celebrate the creativity, diversity, and authenticity of African fashion, connecting younger generations born in diaspora to their African roots.

Showcasing authentic hand-made fabrics: AFSEY highlights the irresistible allure of African textiles.

Beyond the Bassline: Black British music in Leeds

An exhibition inspired by the British Library’s exhibition Beyond the Baseline: 500 Years of Black British Music. 

During Black History Month, Halton Library will be home to the panel display, helping to tell a national story about Black music in Britain through the British Library’s Living Knowledge Network. 

The display will also feature artworks, photographs and more from Leeds Libraries collections relating to Black British music in Leeds.

At Least Until the World Stops Going Round by Charlie Tallott

Village and New Dimension are proud to present a new solo exhibition and celebration of the book “𝘈𝘵 𝘓𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘵 𝘜𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘭 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘞𝘰𝘳𝘭𝘥 𝘚𝘵𝘰𝘱𝘴 𝘎𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘙𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘥” by photographer Charlie Tallott at Village, Leeds. The exhibition opens on Friday 16th August from 6pm - 9pm and continues until Sunday 15th September.
