Reflect

Emma Gasson (UK)

When shafts of light dance and bounce off moving water, the effect is hypnotic and meditative. Guided by an ambient soundtrack, trail your hand through water to generate ripples which are reflected at scale inside an atmospheric brick archway.

SHINE Emerging Artist Programme, commissioned by Light Up The North.

Halo

Illumaphonium (UK)

A series of interactive musical towers contain circular ‘halos’ which detect and respond to you; the closer you are, the brighter and louder they become. Using the notes from a pentatonic scale (the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th and 6th notes of a major scale), all the sounds work in harmony together.

Rever

Outpoint Studio with sound design by Henry Howe (UK).

Rever, meaning to dream, invites us into the realm of the subconscious mind.

Light pulses and dances across vertical parallel battens, creating a captivating symphony of illumination and sound. It evokes a sense of wonder and a dream-state of consciousness.

Sponsored by WSP.
