Karanjit Panesar: Furnace Fruit

New works inspired by the British Library and Leeds Art Gallery collections.

Furnace Fruit debuts new artworks created especially for Leeds Art Gallery, which consider themes of labour, migration, memory and empire. The exhibition takes as its starting point the story of migrant labourers from Punjab, including members of Panesar’s own family, who came to the UK and found themselves working in automotive foundries in the 1950s and 1960s.

Black History Month - Leeds City Council Creative Colleagues Exhibition

The flagship initiative by Leeds City Council for this year's Black History Month is an exhibition of multi media art pieces.

This is a unique opportunity to see the creative talents of ethnically diverse staff across Leeds City Council and to find out about what inspires them and how lived experience, culture and community influences their creative output.

The exhibition will be in situ across the following sites:

30 September to 13 October at the Reginald Centre.

14 October to 3 November at Merrion House.

Look Through the Camera

Join us at Archive for an exhibition of print work by Alfie Fox.

Alfie works with photography, digital art, print, text, collage, and making films. He enjoys experimenting with new techniques and building his skills across different art mediums.

His artwork advocates and challenges people’s perspective of access for people with disabilities and incorporates the difficulties he has personally faced as a young man with multiple disabilities.

Assembly House Annual

Assembly House is excited to be showcasing work from over 30 of our talented studio members this Autumn. We are an artist-led community arts organisation that has continued to grow since we first opened in 2013. Now with 64 studio holders, Assembly House has more creatives and disciplines under its roof than ever. As our family has expanded, the Assembly Annual hopes to showcase the cohesiveness between our artists’ work, and reflect how our practices are tied to and enriched by our community.

Doodle Chat Exhibition Launch

Join us for the opening of a very special new art exhibition here at Left Bank!

Showcasing work from artists that attend Edek's Doodle Chat weekly sessions both here and at The Highrise Project in a BIG celebration of their growing creative community!

Pop down on opening night for a first look at the artworks, meet the artists and also join in a BIG doodle and chat. There will also be some artist stalls run by the artists in the exhibition.
