Exhibition on Screen: John Singer Sargent: Fashion & Swagger

John Singer Sargent is known as the greatest portrait artist of his era. What made his ‘swagger’ portraits remarkable was his power over his sitters, what they wore and how they were presented to the audience. Through interviews with curators, contemporary fashionistas and style influencers, Exhibition on Screen’s film will examine how Sargent’s unique practice has influenced modern art, culture and fashion.

The Sculpture Gallery: A Retospective

Join us throughout December and January to celebrate a year of beautiful, rich and diverse sculpture that we’ve had the pleasure of showing in the gallery throughout the year. This Retrospective Exhibition will include pieces from various guest artists from 2024, and we hope you enjoy re-visiting them or seeing them for the first time.

Whether browsing or looking for gifts, we look forward to seeing you in our beautiful space, as we celebrate another successful year in the gallery.

Café Sessions

A session of sound, movement, visuals and words at Holding Patterns café right in the City Centre.

Come and enjoy improvised performances by Company of Artistic Interventions with guest artists on Sundays 8th and 15th December from 5pm.

We operate a pay-what-you-can scheme. All the income from each of our events goes directly towards supporting our artists and performers.

Kirkstall Living Advent Trail

Kirkstall Living Advent invites you to join the trail, launching on 1 December at St Stephen's Church Hall. Revealed each evening, window displays will showcase the creativity of the Kirkstall neighbourhood.

You can follow the trail online with our interactive map. But we do recommend downloading a map and seeing them all in person. The trail is a fun way to brighten up the dark evenings, and the windows will remain lit up until 5 January.
