Zero Waste Applique - Threads 2025

You'll create a botanical-inspired appliqued square from a selection of Rebekah’s plant dyed fabrics. Perfect for use in patchwork projects or stand-alone pieces like mini quilts or place mats.

Needle turn applique involves attaching fabric shapes to a background fabric by hand, neatly tucking under the raw edges and securing them with hand stitches.

Dobby Loom Weaving Taster Workshop - Threads 2025

Ever wondered what it would be like to weave on a loom? Join Agnis in the Weaving Shed during the Threads Textile Festival and have a go at weaving on the gorgeous dobby looms at Sunny Bank Mills.

You will be in a small group giving plenty of opportunity to ask questions and receive 1 to 1 support throughout the workshop. You will be using stick shuttles during this workshop and will be able to able to take your own small piece of woven material away with you at the end of the session.

Monoprint & Mixed Media on Fabric - Threads 2025

In this workshop you will make prints that can be displayed as artworks in their own right, or used as a basis for other projects, such as embroidery, mixed media pieces, or journalling, and you will leave with a stash of prints. Impressive results are easily achievable with this quick and simple process, and there is no requirement to be able to draw as a variety of options can be incorporated.

Design, Block Print and Make a Lampshade - Threads 2025

This is a full day workshop where you’ll be getting your hands stuck into creating and printing your own unique lampshade lead by printer and maker Aidan Liggins. You’ll learn the basics of block printing onto fabric from composition, carving and printing techniques.

You will then go on to make your own lampshade out of your hand printed fabric, creating a unique handmade piece for your home.

We launch on June 12th and the launch night is FREE with drinks and nibbles provided at All Hallows Church in Hyde Park. 

After that sessions will be £8.50, 7.30pm - 9pm running Thursdays term times.

Our Music and Memories sessions are a chance for you to share a special song and those precious memories with others. Simply request what song you would like, the group will listen to it together and you will have the opportunity to share your thoughts or memories associated with it.
